clock February 8, 2010 10:57 by author Mr Per Olsson
The trip to Thailand is getting closer by the hour now. About 30 hours (9th of February at 2200)) to takeoff and three weeks of sun, long walks and good food.

New thoughts of B2B and workout schools and the coming steps and a logistical point of view in one post as well

Is mrperolsson the same person as MrPerOlsson?

clock January 24, 2010 15:04 by author Mr Per Olsson

A thought came up when I built a simple website for displaying points in a indoor fotball tournament a couple of weeks ago and it was actually a mistake when I was stressed getting data into the system that rendered an error for me that is the source to the question in the title

I wrote Timmele GoiF in one place in the system (id of a team in the tournament) and Timmele GoIF (capital i in GoIF) and of course the system did not work since i used a bit of scripting in the page.
As a human I know, of course, that this is the same team since I know the team. But should a system know this?

Of course, I should not have used the teams name as an ID in the system, it would have been easier/better to have used a numeric id or something that is better for the database engine to index and for, in my case, scripting to understand.

But if names is an identifier in a system, the question arise:
Is a capital version of TIMMELE GOIF the same as the lower case timmele goif?
In older system, for example the ERP Garp, it is a distinction but in more modern SQL server based systems (depending on setup of course) there is no distinction.

How should it be? What is the best, integrationwise?

A lot of questions and, Im sure, a lot of answers.

In my world it should be the same if I want to integrate between two system and if it is a standalone system it could be different since I dont have to talk to others but myself (myself being the system)

B2B School - Section #3 of 8 - Wholesale - Retailer

clock January 10, 2010 21:05 by author Mr Per Olsson

B2B, trade of products or services, between a wholesale and a retailer often consists of a varying transaction size as opposed to manufacturer -> wholesale which often work with big transactions.

The wholesale is the supplier and the retailer is the customer in this case.

Being a supplier in this kind of B2B chain is less complex since there is often refined products being traded.

The customer is in his turn often performing directly against end customers (and ends the supply chain going from B2B to
B2C)

Trading documents or information between the organisation is often sent through fax or some kind of integration message between procurement systems or directly between ERP systems.

Kettlebell - 24 kg arrived

clock January 10, 2010 20:56 by author Mr Per Olsson

As written in the post the other day a 24 kg kettlebell was arriving.

It arrived 8th of january so two workouts have gone since. My comment of using this heavier is: my god it was heavy!

I saw immediately that exercise technique is of the essence when swinging this weight, and it feels a lot more after the workout.

More will follow about kettlebell training, so far I am surprised of how effective it is on my strength and balance.

Cooking with love and making it easier to do

clock January 8, 2010 21:04 by author Mr Per Olsson

My mother and grand mother says and said "when you cook food, cook with love" and I never understood

Til now, when grown. Now I'm not in a hurry cooking, I dont throw things around in the kitchen and whats left is just lots of dishes and a strange feeling of "what just happened", I let it take the time it needs and I do it with care for both the food it self and they who eats it.
What I found out was that food cooked the time it needs to be cooked and with the love and respect it deserves, tastes better and gives me a better feeling after eating it.

A couple of tips when cooking (the three important p's and the big L) to make it easier for you

  1. Plan - if you can, plan a week ahead, this way you know what to do and when to do so you dont need to feel the pressure or stress of cooking. If you plan for it, it will be so much easier
  2. Purchase - go to your favorite store(s) or supermarket(s), dont be afraid to speak to butchers or the sales team and see to it that the give you the service and food of the high quality that you deserve.
  3. Prepare - Since you have planned so well and for a whole week, prepare everything the day before or the same day. See to it that you got everything needed for the meal your cooking so you dont have to look for it
  4. Love - your food, give it the herbs, the seasoning and scents of the highest possible quality and learn to cook everything from the ground, it will be worth it!

And of course, after cooking with love, invite some good friends, the family or loved ones to the table and enjoy

Workout school - section #3 of 8 - Condition

clock December 8, 2009 21:50 by author Mr Per Olsson

Condition training is, in my mind, the hardest thing to do because it can be hard to the mind.

What do I mean with that it could be hard to the mind?
Well, have anyone been really tired walking up a slope and thinking "I will surely die so it is probably better to stop and rest instead of going all the way". This is what I mean, that condition training is a bit more about really deciding and dont stop just because ones tired. To get good results it is sometimes necessary to go further even though it feels like there is no air left. But thats for the occasional moments when there is somekind of record being set. At least for beginners, for which this short school is written.

So how is workout for training lungs and heart capacity? Well, if you want to be good at something, workout in a similar way. If you want to be good at running 20 km, start with walking a couple of times each week for a month. Depending on weight (if its to high or low) you can go to next step where you perhaps start jogging in intervals, walk one minute, run one minute and do this for about 30 minutes in the beginning.

The important thing with starting condition training is that you compete with yourself and actually put your self to a test sometimes to stress the body a bit for results.

Remember that it takes time to make lung and heart capacity better, a bit easier in the beginning but the more well trained you get the harder it will be to improve but then its up to deciding and doing.

Noticed when writing

clock December 8, 2009 21:44 by author Mr Per Olsson

I have noticed, as I wrote in an earlier post, that it is really fun to write. I say it's important with levelling, but darn it is not easy to do that when there is so much thoughts that wants to get out from a bubbling brain.

Please comment about things that can be done differently, better or worse (hopefully not :)) when writing.

B2B School - Section #2 of 8 - Manufacturer - Wholesale

clock November 19, 2009 22:56 by author Mr Per Olsson

B2B, trade of products or services, between a manufacturer and a wholesale company often consists of big transactions as opposed to B2C which often consists of small transactions.

The manufacturer is the supplier and the wholesale company is the customer in this case.

Being a supplier in this kind of B2B chain could be quite complex since there could be raw materials involved where these are put together in a production chain. Refined and if it is a producing organisation, the raw material is the product that somehow will be shipped to the customer who in his turn will refine or trade the product one step further.

The customer is in his turn often a supplier but could as well be performing directly against end customers.

Trading documents or information between the organisation is often sent through fax or some kind of integration message between procurement systems or directly between ERP systems.
